I spoke with American Chamber of Commerce Japan recently and The ACCJ Journal featured our discussion in their journal and also released it in podcast form which you can listen to below- the topic – Are Minpaku a New Asset Class?
On July 1, the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan Alternative Investment Committee invited me to speak with them as one of the most successful minpaku hosts in Tokyo. I talked about the ecosystem of services and operating models that provide business opportunities – also on how hosts can make themselves a valued part of the community by collaborating with neighbours and local businesses. They were kind enough to write a hugely flattering article about my talk on “Are Minpaku a New Asset Class?”
“A hotel is really an accommodation product; it’s a bed, it’s where you stay and then all your experience is outside the house. A minpaku is really a hospitality and experience product.”
